Summer school, concerts and summer plans

So a few of the things that have been happening in my life lately.......

Faith Hill /Andrea and I waiting for TRAX /Tim McGraw

I went to a Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert this week. It was good but a little disappointing. Faith Hill was a little flat at times and not very fun in person though a couple of her songs blew me away. The stage and the atmosphere was amazing. Tim McGraw was good but he sang some older songs that nobody seemed to know. Their duets rocked and overall it was very fun. I went with my friend Andrea who asked me to go at the last minute. She had tickets so it was sweet. I am going to attempt to attach a video to my blog from the concert so you can get a hint of what it was like though the audio isn't very good.

I am teaching summer school for the month of June. I am teaching 1st graders who are going into 2nd grade this fall. Its a reading summer school with the intent of getting these kids caught up before they get too far behind. Its fun to be back in the classroom. Its amazing how quickly I get out of practice. The first day I felt like such a rookie and wasn't quite sure what I was doing. I've got the hang of it now and only two weeks left.

Beginning in July I'll be traveling for the rest of the summer. July 9 - 23 I will be on a church history tour. I am SO EXCITED. You can see my itinerary and be jealous by clicking this link:

My Tour Itinerary

Several people from my ward are going as well as several high school kids. It should be a blast. I am counting down the days and CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Then of course the great hike follows that! WOOHOO!

I still work on Shannon and Paul's old yard here in Provo. Yard work is FUN for me and I love making things beautiful. Paul's parents own the home and have renters there and I get to take care of the yard. Its really looking good and it makes me excited. Its funny cuz it seems like the more you do, the more there is to do. Last week the edges on the lawn were bugging me and I haven't been able to edge because there is no edger. I tried edging with the weedwacker but the edges are pretty overgrown so it didn't work. So I checked into renting an edger and it was super cheap. I had no idea what I was in for. Turns out the lawn was a good 3 - 6 inches onto the sidewalk. It was like I was cutting sod. Which really I was. I did end up using some pieces to resod an edge that been worn away by people driving on the lawn. Needless to say, I was COVERED in dirt and grass by the time I finished. I had to go over each edge twice...the first time to cut the sod away and the second time to clean up the edge. It is AMAZING how good it looks now. I also have planted lots of flowers and shrubs and am waiting for them to grow. They're pretty young so they don't look like much. I'm hoping by the end of the summer they'll be looking good and next year should be AMAZING. I can't wait!

Well thats my life for now! Happy Father's Day to Dad! We had a good conversation tonight which was fun! Until next time....

You should take pics of the yard and post them. I really want to see what it looks like, especially because you've done so much work on it!

K, I felt the same as everyone else. As you were talking, I mean writing, I totally wished I could see what the yard looks like.
