The Fiery Furnace

It sounds worse than it is. The Fiery Furnace is a hike in Arches National Park. I've wanted to do it everytime I've been here but its a guided ranger hike so you have to sign up for it and you have to go at the scheduled times. Well this time I was determined to go.

So I got us all signed up for it. Everyone decided to go and I was excited. Monday morning we got up and drove to the trailhead to meet the ranger. We were told we would have to split our group but ended up being able to go together.

Its called the fiery furnace because of the color of the rocks and because its a twisted maze with narrow crevices, arches, hidden hollows in the rocks. It was so amazingly beautiful and fun to go with friends. There were a few narrow crevices to go through and some even had some deep drop offs. I still remember hearing people yell and scream as they made their way across. Makes me chuckle now to think about it.

All in all it was a fun hike, very educational and a lot of fun. What's more its shaded most of the way because you're inside all the rocks. I highly recommend it when you're in Arches National Park. There's a small fee but its worth every penny.

It's fun to see all your recent blogs. And to FINALLY have the "rest of the story." It's just good to hear about all your trips and adventures last year.
