We left Boston and headed up to White River Junction, Vermont. This was a long bus day. Lots of time on the bus which was fun and left lots of time for sleeping, talking, and playing games.
We arrived in the small town of White River Junction, Vermont and quickly checked into the Hotel Coolidge. Our Innkeeper, David, (as he called himself) met us on the bus, gave us our keys and instructions on how to prep ourselves for the evening he had prepared for us. We checked into our VERY quaint hotel and got ready to go tubing down the White River. It was SOOOOOOO fun. Its a very shallow river and not running very fast but it was so much fun to tube and just relax. The scenery was beautiful and it was a perfect way to unwind from all the hustle and bustle of the big cities. At one point Cody and Punky (two of the high school boys) decided to start taking people down (overturning their tubes). They came after me but couldn't defeat me. We all got wet and just enjoyed relaxing down the river.
We went back to the hotel and changed for our BBQ. Our "innkeeper" had prepared a bonfire and bbq dinner for us up in a meadow in the beautiful Vermont countryside. We had a great dinner and then gathered around the bonfire for fun songs and a sweet devotional about gaining a testimony. A few people shared their experiences of gaining a testimony and it was great. There was a good spirit and it was a beautiful night. The fire crackled, the stars twinkled bright up in the sky and lightning bugs flashed all over the meadow. What a peaceful setting and a great way to start the church history part of our trip.

At last, we're on the road again! Loved the photos, and the way you describe your campfire setting in Vermont puts me there in my thoughts.
