Day 6 From the Big Apple to the wide open spaces

Today pretty much concluded the "big city" part of our tour. We had breakfast and then left for Boston, MA. The drive was beautiful as we drove across Connecticut to Boston. We only spent a few hours in Boston but it was enough to have some DELICIOUS fish n chips as well as see some historical revolutionary sites.

We left Boston and headed up to White River Junction, Vermont. This was a long bus day. Lots of time on the bus which was fun and left lots of time for sleeping, talking, and playing games.
This was one game we played on the bus called "King of Pain". You put on your headphones and sing into the microphone with all your might, eyes closed. Everyone on the bus gets to "enjoy" the show but without the background music. It was painful at times but very funny. This is me rockin out to "Brand New Girlfriend".
Some people enjoyed taking pictures of us sleeping. Here I am sleeping with Sally next to me. Julia is in front of me and Andrea is next to her.

We arrived in the small town of White River Junction, Vermont and quickly checked into the Hotel Coolidge. Our Innkeeper, David, (as he called himself) met us on the bus, gave us our keys and instructions on how to prep ourselves for the evening he had prepared for us. We checked into our VERY quaint hotel and got ready to go tubing down the White River. It was SOOOOOOO fun. Its a very shallow river and not running very fast but it was so much fun to tube and just relax. The scenery was beautiful and it was a perfect way to unwind from all the hustle and bustle of the big cities. At one point Cody and Punky (two of the high school boys) decided to start taking people down (overturning their tubes). They came after me but couldn't defeat me. We all got wet and just enjoyed relaxing down the river.

Tubing down the White River. Isn't the setting beautiful?

We went back to the hotel and changed for our BBQ. Our "innkeeper" had prepared a bonfire and bbq dinner for us up in a meadow in the beautiful Vermont countryside. We had a great dinner and then gathered around the bonfire for fun songs and a sweet devotional about gaining a testimony. A few people shared their experiences of gaining a testimony and it was great. There was a good spirit and it was a beautiful night. The fire crackled, the stars twinkled bright up in the sky and lightning bugs flashed all over the meadow. What a peaceful setting and a great way to start the church history part of our trip.
Here we are singing campfire songs and doing silly dances!

At last, we're on the road again! Loved the photos, and the way you describe your campfire setting in Vermont puts me there in my thoughts.
