After breakfast, we got on the bus to head to Sharon, Vermont. We took a detour through Hanover, New Hampshire and took a driving tour of Dartmouth College. We arrived in Sharon and attended church at the chapel located on the grounds of the birthplace of Joseph Smith. It was a quaint chapel and our group along with another tour bus that showed up more than doubled the size of the congregation.
After sacrament meeting we drove to Tunbridge, Vermont which is where Lucy Mack and Joseph Smith Sr. met. We went to the small store where Lucy Mack worked. The store owner had copies of the marriage ledger to give to each of us. She had only owned the store for a year but was well aware of the significance the store holds in LDS history.
After visiting the store we drove back to Sharon where we had lunch at Camp Joseph, a camp owned by the church for girls camps and youth camps. It was BEAUTIFUL. So green. We had lunch there that we bought the day before. It was a nice time. I called my mom from this spot just to share with her the feelings I was having so far on this trip.
After lunch we went to the birthplace of Joseph Smith, toured the visitors center there and had a short devotional with our leaders. It began to rain so we finished the devotional on the bus with testimonies given by some selected by Kristy. The monument there and the grounds are gorgeous. I had no idea there would be so much there. The church really puts a lot into their historic sites.

We then drove to Albany, NY and checked into our hotel. I remember liking the beds in this hotel. Sweet dreams!

Dear Sir or Madam:
Despite popular mythology, the Tunbridge Village Store was not built at the time the Smiths were living in the area. According to Mormon history, Joseph Smith married Lucy Mack in 1795, and the store was not built for over thirty more years. As such, there is also no record of Lucy Mack ever having worked in the store.
Best,
Erin
