The drive home....or to somewhere - Andrea Style

Everyone knows the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, right? Well maybe not always. In a car its not always possible because you have to follow the roads. As you can see on the map above, there is a route you can take that gets you from Provo to Moab pretty directly. You do have to change highways a few times but there is good signage, etc. As you can also see from the map, you COULD stay on the interstates and eventually get to Moab but its quite a bit further.

As we were preparing to leave I was feeling quite tired so Andrea volunteered to drive. Angela and Andrew hopped in the back and I quickly fell asleep before we even reached I-70. I started to come to and was pretty groggy. I kinda laid there with my eyes half open watching the road. Pretty soon it became apparent to me that we were on the interstate still. I could see several lanes. I thought I had been asleep longer than that. Pretty soon I started to focus on the landscape and I knew we were not in the right place. Keep in mind all of the people in the car were awake and had driven to Moab from Provo. Some had been there more than once.

"Where are we?" says Boyce. "I have no idea, " says Andrea, "I'm just driving!" " Are we still on I-70?" asks Boyce. "Yes" "How long have we been driving?" says Boyce.

Then I proceeded to get out a map and try to figure out where we were and the quickest route home. Honestly I was slightly annoyed, but I tried to just get over it quickly and laugh it off. Doesn't do any good to be annoyed right? Apparently the picture below pretty much sums up what they were all doing while I was sleeping and they should have been paying attention to the road signs!!!!

Pretty soon we stopped at a rest area and then I took over the driving after that. We made it home and it only took us about an hour longer than normal. All was good and now I have something really funny to use when harassing Andrea.

SIR! I will admit to everything posted and let you have your glory of being a human GPS! :) However, I will correct one small error you have in the story. I did NOT VOLUNTEER to drive. . . YOU ASKED me to drive home. BIG difference. I don't know if you recall -oh but i am sure you in fact do - i wasn't really fond of driving your car (the silver bullet) - for good reason I might add. Let's just say I like to give the local law enforcement reason to be on their toes! Help us ALL! :)

Coach...sorry about the deleted post above i accidently posted twice. :) (guess i really wanted my statement to be heard hee hee) I also would like to add - aside form the extra hour i added to the trip it was quite an enjoyable trip home - and it was beautiful scenery. :) AHHHHH the memories that the silver bullet holds.

Wait....so since I asked you to drive ( I think it was more of...I'm really tired and you saying I can drive if you want me to) its somehow my fault that you went the wrong way! And why weren't you fond of driving my car? I can't seem to recall.....was it anything to do with the car really? or was it just you? hmmmm

No it wasn't your fault - wasn't even trying to blame you. I take total blame for the detour. I just am trying to make sure you include all the correct details in your story.
I actually enjoy driving your car. It's VERY fast, - and you can't even tell. . . that is until "someone" points it out! ha!
