The Reception!!!

Our wedding reception couldn't have been more perfect. Perfect weather....perfect place...perfect day...perfect bride....ok it would have been more perfect and less stressful had my family shown up on time for photos and had the cake arrived earlier than 10 minutes before it was supposed to start....BUT...the evening was still perfect and magical and SO MUCH FUN. Honestly Suzanne and I didn't get to enjoy the full grandeur of the party because we were greeting people as they arrived but it was fun watching so many groups of old friends and family get together and talk and reminisce. It truly was a reunion for so many different people and we thoroughly enjoyed the night.

Our reception was held at Conrad Ranch up the south fork of Provo Canyon. The fall colors were just about at their peak. Lots of reds and yellows with lots of green mixed in to offset the colors. It was a beautifully sunny afternoon and the setting couldn't have been better.

Once my family arrived we took beautiful pictures with both families as well as just some shots of Suzanne and I.

I was overwhelmed at all of the old friends that came from near and far to celebrate with us. Suzanne's family traveled a long way and it was so great to have them there with us. It was also nice to meet some of Suzanne's friends and have her meet some of mine (though I'm sure neither one of us will remember meeting any of them).

Part way through the night we paused the line to cut the cake. Suzanne was concentrating so hard on getting the cake all over me that she forgot to open her mouth. Finally she opened up and I gently fed her the piece of cake. Mine was all over my face!

Then we had our first dance. We were laughing nervously at first as the music started out super soft. Some thought we weren't dancing to any music at all! It finally got loud enough to hear and it was great to dance with my new wife. She's so beautiful and I can't help but look at her and wonder how I could deserve such a wonderful woman.

I love this picture of my niece looking on as well as this one of my nieces dancing. Its quite incredible how much children learn by watching and how much they see. Makes you wanna really protect what they see and make sure they see lots of good things.

She danced with her dad next which was a tender moment for both of them. I love Suzanne's dad. He's such a softy and loves his daughters so much. I danced with Mom next. I LOVE my mom and have always been such a mama's boy. She looked beautiful as well in the dress she made herself just for the occasion.

Next came the bouquet toss (caught by Suzanne's sister) and then the garter fling (caught by my old roommate's son) and then more greeting of friends long after the time was up.

Needless to say we were EXHAUSTED. We said our goodbye's to family and friends and trudged inside to change our clothes. Linda Conrad had graciously reserved some food for us. Mr. Conrad kept us company while we ate telling us the story of how the reception center came to be. It was so nice to enjoy the sandwich, fruit, yummy eclair and OH the cheesecake. It was all so yummy.

We hope everyone enjoyed it since we never saw any of it. Luckily our photographer took some great pictures of the spread so we can see what it looked like.

We drove back to our beautiful room at the Haxton Manor exhausted yet completely happy and enjoyed a great night's sleep! Ahhh what a day!

Hey, I am totally blog stalking you!!! Yeah!!! Your wedding pictures are amazing! Suzanne looks absolutely gorgeous and you don't look so bad your self. My little baby decided to come late so I missed the Campbell festivities in Bakersfield(do you admit to being from there on your blog?). I'm sure the weekend was bitter sweet. My thoughts and well wishes are with you(what? am I a hallmark card? I should be). Anyway, I love you guys! Congrats!
