Honeymoon Day 7 - The rainforest and going home!

Look how big those leaves are compared to my little Suz!

We woke up today and had a yummy breakfast of fruit and an omelet. The lodge where we ate was open air to the rainforest and was beautiful. Our villa was right on the side of the hillside overlooking the rainforest. Suz was a little nervous that our house was on stilts but was assured by the owner that the foundations are very deep! :) Our room was gorgeous with windows on two of the walls looking out to the forest and waterfalls on the opposite hillside.

Our room at Villa Sierra Palms and the views of the rainforest from our room!

After breakfast we took a hike down to the falls just below our guesthouse. We enjoyed the nice walk. Again it started to rain but we had time so we waited out the rain under a pavillion we found down by the river.

We checked out of our place all too soon and began the drive back to San Juan. While in the airport I got a phone call from my sister Lindy. Through tears she informed me that if I wanted to see Shannon I needed to come right now. Shannon was home and had informed them that if anyone wanted to see her they needed to come soon. She was being made comfortable and not in any pain and was speaking less and less.

After talking with my sweet wife we decided that we had spent some great moments with Shannon at the wedding and in the temple. Shannon had a lot of fun at the wedding and really seemed to enjoy herself despite her physical ailments. That is the Shannon I want to remember. We continued our trip home as planned with a prayer in our hearts for Shannon and the family. We arrived home to Utah and it was nice to be home. What a great honeymoon!
