Sad news

Tonight, as we were driving up to our room in the rainforest, my phone rang and it was my mother. I was navigating the road so I opted not to answer but I knew right away that was something was wrong otherwise my mother wouldn't call us on the honeymoon. When we arrived to our room I checked the message and my mother was calling to let me know that my little sister Shannon, who has been sick for some time, was not doing very well. She had opted to go home from the hospital without any further medical care and only hospice to keep her comfortable. It was a sobering moment but I felt at peace and Suz and I opted to enjoy the rest of the honeymoon. Shannon of course was very much in our thoughts and prayers tonight as was the rest of my family!
